Temporary COO/PM — we take over
operations instead of advising from the sidelines.

We step into your company as an interim Project Manager / COO. We genuinely take responsibility for getting operations in order from day one. The handover plan is included — we step back once the team is ready to run on its own.

Who it's for

Interim COO/PM is the right choice for you if...

A digital agency with a growing portfolio

More and more clients, each one "handled differently". No shared process and no time to build one.

Software house / webdev / software

The founder is also the "boss of every project". Projects run through you instead of through a PM.

A service company with a team

You have a team, but no clear system of work. Everyone "does it their own way", which makes margins a lottery.

What you get in practice

Full operational responsibility
from day one.

1

Process mapping

Processes, tasks, and workflows across the team — clear to everyone.

  • End-to-end project workflow
  • Decision gates
  • Escalation rules to the founder
2

Organized communication

Rules, channels, who talks to whom about what. No more chaos on Slack.

  • Slack channel structure
  • Async vs sync rules
  • Communication hub
3

Sprint & status system

A clear "what, who, by when". Meeting and feedback rituals.

  • Weekly sprints with a DoD
  • Daily standups (15 min)
  • Retro & planning every 2 weeks
4

Reporting to the founder

No more "black box". You know what's happening in the company.

  • Weekly KPI dashboard
  • 30-min sync with the founder
  • Alerts when risks appear
5

Relief in day-to-day delivery

We take over the operational delivery of projects — project management, resources, deadlines, escalations.

  • End-to-end project delivery
  • Managing team resources
  • Escalations and client communication

Format: usually a few months of intensive collaboration, after which the system stays in the company — with you or your internal PM.

Without the hidden costs of a hire

No recruitment (3–6 months of searching for a COO). No onboarding (another 2–3 months of ramping up). No vacation, benefits, payroll taxes, or medical plan. You're buying a result, not a headcount.

FAQ

Common questions about Interim COO/PM.

How long does an Interim engagement last?

Typically 3–6 months of intensive work, after which the system stays in the company — with you or your internal PM. The handover plan is part of the contract from day one.

What if my team won't accept "an outsider"?

The first 2 weeks are purely observation and interviews — with no changes introduced. The team sees that we listen before we start making decisions. Adoption is high because the changes are made together.

Can I later hire your consultant full-time?

By design, no — Interim is meant to leave the company ready for your COO. We help recruit the successor and hand things over, but our consultants stay at ECG.

How much does it cost vs. a full-time COO?

As a rule, cheaper than a senior COO hire (with benefits, recruitment, and bonuses). You pay a monthly rate for a result — and you step back once the team is ready.
